UNIVERSAL YOUTH AGRIC SOLUTION

Universal Youth Agric Solution (UYAS) is a Ghanaian-owned not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth in Agripreneurship. We aim to bridge the unemployment gap, promote environmental conservation, and support sustainable agriculture practices. We aim to create a world where African youth are economically empowered, food-secure, and environmentally conscious.

Universal Youth Agric Solution (UYAS) is a Ghanaian-owned not-for-profit organisation registered with the Registrar General Department of Ghana to empower the youth in  Agripreneurship or Agri-business to bridge the high unemployment gap and inculcate the spirit of Agriculture while promoting environmental and conservation consciousness in the youth. Our environmental consciousness adopts the Agroecological model, where our trainings support an integration of ecologically sensitive approaches to agribusiness.

UYAS started its operations over 10 years ago. It originally started as a Foundation and metamorphosed into Universal Youth Agric Solution in 2024. Since then, it has been operating as an independent NGO supporting many youth and farmer groups and female-headed households in Agribusiness in Ghana.

The NGO seeks to achieve this objective by utilizing its 7.5-acre Agricultural Technology Aggregation Centre (ATaC)  at  Akramang in the  Greater Accra region of Ghana. UYAS believe that Agriculture can be used as a vehicle to achieve more than half of the international development goals including Agenda 2063. A section under the youth charter of the Agenda 2063, emphasizes key areas, namely: Education and Skills Development; Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship. These among others are the focal areas of UYAS. We believe that by empowering the youth economically, the world, especially Africa will be a place to live in the near 50 years. We are empowering the youth in Agribusiness by utilizing a one-stop shop centre of technology to transfer knowledge and behaviour change towards the environment.

Our Agriculture Technology Aggregation Centre has been decentralized to consist of a Value Addition Centre, a Livelihood Centre, as well as a Biodiversity Conservation Centre. All these centres have been well organized to provide the youth with the needed training to be independent in the provision of technology to other youth. The centre provides training and partners with numerous organisations to implement projects geared towards promoting youth employment, and conservation. Agroforestry practice is something that UYAS has been promoting among the farmers as well as the youth. Given our quest to contribute towards the achievement of the SDGs, over the years, the organization has been giving out seedlings to farmers and schools and encouraging them to factor greening in their teachings at the basic level.

Our Mission

Our mission is to work towards achieving international development goals and Agenda 2063 by empowering the youth in Agripreneurial skills and making them economically independent while consciously protecting the environment. We believe that by empowering youth in Agripreneurship, we can create a ripple effect of positive change in African communities.

Our Vision

Our vision is to empower the youth to be economically independent through agribusiness in the next 50 years, driving food and nutritional security in Africa through an ecologically friendly approach. We envision a future where African youth are leaders in sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and community development.

Our Objectives

Our objectives are to:

  1. Empower youth in Agripreneurial skills and knowledge.
  2. Promote environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture practices.
  3. Support youth-led agribusiness initiatives and entrepreneurship.
  4. Foster partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders in the agriculture sector.
  5. Contribute to the achievement of international development goals and Agenda 2063.

Training Centers

Our training centers provide hands-on experience and knowledge in Agripreneurship:

1. Livelihood Centre

Offers training in value addition, livelihood interventions, and agribusiness management.

2. Aquaculture Centre

Provides training in fish farming, breeding techniques, and value addition.

3. Youth in Agri-Business From Basic Schools

Focuses on biodiversity conservation, agroforestry practices, and sustainable agriculture methods.

Universal Youth Agric Solution (UYAS) is promoting Agri-business and biodiversity conservation in Basic schools, addressing the lack of emphasis on Agriculture in the current Ghana Education Service curriculum.

  1. Collaborating with schools in Amasaman and Greater Accra to visit the UYAS Centre for practical learning.
  2. Exposing students to livestock farming (piggery, goats, poultry, etc.) and aquaculture.
  3. Promoting school gardens and backyard gardens among teachers and pupils.
  4. Fostering a strong foundation for youth interest in Agribusiness and entrepreneurship.

Goal: To cultivate a new generation of Agripreneurs across Ghana and Africa within the next 10 years, promoting food and nutritional security through a holistic approach.
